Ubuntu server and a seperate NAS

I have a Ubuntu server and a Drobo 5n device.

I’m using /etc/fstab on my Ubuntu server to mount a cifs share from the Drobo.

I realize I can run Pydio as an app directly on the Drobo, but I’ve found that to be very slow.

I’d like to have Cells installed on my Ubuntu server and connect to the Drobo as a datasource. Has anyone been successful setting up Cells to use a mounted NAS share?

I did not personnally test this but this is theoretically possible:

  • if the path is deep enough (you must have write access on the parent folder)
  • if permission are correctly set.
