Hello everyone, my data was accidentally deleted by pydio cells sync, how can I recover it? The problem is very urgent！！！

Environment information:
pydio version: Pydio Cells Home Edition 4.4.5
Operating system: Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
cells sync version: 0.9.4
Operating system version: MacOs15.1

I use cells sync on mac to synchronize local files to the workspace in both directions. Details are as follows

  • 1: Local path: /Users/bmy/source/documents/server-related
  • 2: pydio cells workspace path: /code/server-related

At this time, the configured workspace path somehow became the root path “/”, and then cells sync deleted all the files in all my pydio cells workspaces.

Hi @code_bmy

Cells does not perform any hidden backup that you could use.
So if you (or the person that is in charge of you cell server) has no backup, you most probably have lost your data.
It’s a hard reminder that you should always have one…
But please don’t shoot the messenger.

And for the record, we are not quite satisfied with the Cells Sync tools, and it still has some issues that have to be fixed: that’s why it is still in v0.9.x
But as there is small push (and help) from the community on this, it has low priority.
