- OS: RHEL9.5
- Pydio Cells: 4.4.10
- Webserver: Apache/2.4.62 configured as a reverse proxy for Pydio Cells using this documentation: [Pydio | Running Cells behind an Apache reverse proxy](https://pydio.com/en/docs/kb/deployment/running-cells-behind-apache-reverse-proxy)
- Database: mysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.5.27-MariaDB, for Linux (x86\_64)
- Desktop Windows 11 v 24H2
- Browser: Firefox 138
- Upload client that works: web browser - firefox
- Upload client that doesn’t work: curl - unauthenticated

Everything works swell except for unauthenticated (anonymous) curl uploads trying:

- curl --upload-file ./helloworld.txt [https://cells.example.com/public/blinddropslugname](https://cells.example.com/public/blinddropslugname)

I can upload the same file using drag and drop in a browser using the same URL.

Hi,
This isn’t the way cells work.

To upload files using cli, you may use either curl or cells client tools

- cec [recommended]: [Pydio | Cells Client (cec)](https://pydio.com/en/docs/developer-guide/cells-client-cec)
- curl: You may manually construct s3 signature in bash script. For example: [rest - How do you upload files/folders to Pydio Cells using the Pydio Cells API - Stack Overflow](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/54700473/how-do-you-upload-files-folders-to-pydio-cells-using-the-pydio-cells-api)

I’m with you, for command line, one of two tools - curl or cec, with cec being recommended. However, with curl, can one not upload to cells anonymously? This is a local data store also, not an s3 back end.
